WaterGuard System and Total Basement Finishing in Manchester, CT
Challenge
This Manchester basement was cold, damp and uninviting. Water was constantly entering the basement which was quite a nuisance for the homeowner. He wanted to utilize the space to get the most value for his home. Ideally, he wanted a finished basement that would also support a waterproofed space. The homeowner decided to call Connecticut Basement Systems after recognizing that they have been specializing in waterproofing products and installation for the past 30 years!
Solution
On the day of the appointment, Mick Foster arrived at the home to evaluate the situation. He concluded that in order to waterproof the basement, a WaterGuard System paired with a TripleSafe Sump Pump would need to be installed. To control humidity in the space, a SaniDry Sedona was recommended. Lastly, to give the basement a finished and inviting look, ThermalDry Carpet and BrightWall panels were suggested. After reviewing the proposal, the homeowner decided that these products would transform his basement into a living space that he wanted. With that said, a production date was quickly scheduled.
Kryzstof Wilk and his production team installed all the waterproofing products professionally and efficiently. They first started with the WaterGuard System. The perimeter of the floors had to be excavated because the system is placed internally. This system will collect and channel the water that wants to enter the basement to the new sump pump. Once the system is placed, it is back filled with gravel and sealed off with cement. The system is then hooked up to the TripleSafe Sump Pump which will bring the water away from the home. Lastly, they found the perfect spot for the SaniDry Sedona.
Chavon Bowman and his team were responsible for installing the new walls and floors. They first installed the BrightWall Panels which was a great choice for the area because it prevents any water vapor from entering the basement and it also gives the space a bright, fresh look. The ThermalDry Charcoal Carpet with gray frame was installed. This carpet is completely waterproofed and will keep the floors warm and inviting.
Once the entire project was complete, the Manchester homeowner had a totally transformed basement. A space where he could enjoy entirely without a fear of water entering the basement was exactly what he wanted!
